Background

Nezerwa website is run by the Youth Department of the Anglican Diocese of Kigali in collaboration with a team of young people, who volunteer their time and skills to make sure that this website is up, running and up to date. We call them the media team.
The Youth Department: The Youth Department serves alongside other church levels and groups of people who also have an impact on our youth work which include the Department of Mission and Evangelism, the Mothers Union and The Church mobilization Department. The Youth department works with 6 Archdeaconries administered by archdeacons, 41 parishes and congregations across Kigali diocese in which serve 46 ordained pastors and 192 chapels led by catechists.

• Youth committees: These are young people chosen to represent the other youth from their congregations. Youth committees are also present on each of the four archdeaconry levels.
• The students around Kigali diocese. This category includes volunteers involved in students’ ministry both in schools owned by EAR Kigali Diocese or in public schools. We don’t have chaplains in schools; therefore the students ‘ministry is mainly done by volunteers from neighboring churches, pastors or students' leaders themselves.
• Volunteers: People of different gifts and talents with the calling to serve in the youth ministry both at the diocesan level and on other levels (parish and archdeaconries). These include church leaders, adults who have special skills that can benefit the youth as well as some young people involved in youth ministry.
